Since the modification of its by-laws in 2004, EDANA has opened its doors to membership outside its traditional remit of Europe, Middle East and Africa and now counts members from all parts of the world. With an increased geographical reach, EDANA has in turn expanded the geographical scope of its issue management and advice, training courses, conferences and symposia and its issue management.
EDANA ensures that it is meeting the needs of the increasingly global nonwovens industry by supporting and working in close cooperation with nonwovens and related industry associations around the world.
Some of the areas of joint work include:
- EDANA – INDA Joint Nonwovens Standard procedures
- Trade shows joint promotion
- Cooperation on Statistics
In addition to the established representative bodies based in Europe, the United States and Asia, EDANA promotes the establishment of new industry organisations in major emerging markets and provides help to the industry participants in such regions in a number of areas, including quality standards and fair trade practices.
EDANA, together with ANFA and INDA, took the initiative of establishing the Global Nonwovens Summit, which is composed of members from the nonwovens trade associations throughout the world, and which meets once per year during the major nonwovens exhibitions in Europe (INDEX), US (IDEA) and Asia (ANEX).
