19th November, 2012 – Brussels – Welcoming Mr David Rousse as the newly announced President of INDA, Pierre Wiertz, General Manager of EDANA, expressed congratulations on his appointment, underscoring the positive relationship and joint projects delivered by the two associations.

“Our members have seen the benefits of our excellent working relationship, especially those who are members of both groups, and we look forward to working with Dave in pursuing and reinforcing the links and cooperation between INDA and EDANA.” Said Pierre Wiertz

Responding, Mr Rousse stated that “I have always supported a strong INDA/EDANA relationship, as many of our members are global in nature, and expect us to be synergistic as we both meet their needs.”

The teams from both associations know each other well, often participating in each others’ events, and correspond almost on a weekly basis on issues such as the WSP test methods, the Flushability Guidelines and the Global Nonwovens OUTLOOK 2011-2016, or on trade issues.

Under the initiative of the EDANA Chair Patricia Featherstone, and INDA Chair Todd Bassett, senior management and members of the Board of Governors will meet at IDEA, the tri-annual nonwovens exhibition, hosted by INDA, and located in Miami Florida from April 23rd to the 25th to discuss the status of the associations’ joint work and future plans.

In closing, Pierre Wiertz stated that “While the two associations can have different focuses and strategies to best serve their members, EDANA welcomes the opportunity to recommit to our existing cooperation and to continue, knowing that the nonwovens and related industries have a unique opportunity across our global societies, and the support provided by associations via regulatory, technical, market data and promotion has a very real effect on our members’ businesses.
