This test guideline includes both an Anaerobic Bio-disintegration Test (FG505A) and an Anaerobic Biodegradation Test (FG505B).  The Anaerobic Biodisintegration Test determines product disintegration after incubation, while the Anaerobic Biodegradation Test measures the amount of gas produced under specific conditions.

One of 7 core tests, all of which must be passed in order to support a ‘flushable’ claim for a nonwoven sheet designed, marketed or commonly used in a bathroom setting or for toileting purposes.
